Client lies on a massage table, modestly covered by a sheet. The massage therapist uses lotion or oil to work out trigger points, tension, and tight muscles. Massage oil or cream is used with smooth, gliding strokes. Firm but gentle pressure is used to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and create other health benefits.  It is a classic massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.

Sports massage includes different techniques that focus on manipulating soft tissue, to correct imbalance caused by athletic performance. Sports massage is beneficial for athletes who are looking to improve their range of motion, increase flexibility, relieve muscle aches caused from recurrent activity, and manage pain associated with specific sports such as tennis elbow.

Sports massage is proven to release and reduce tension in muscles, improve circulation and encourage the removal of waste products such as lactic acid during high intensity activity, and can help to relax the body. All of this helps promote recovery and reduces the chance of muscle injury. LMT Chantal is trained in Sports Massage for Pickle Ball athletes.

Light, gentle massage and passive stretching to ease muscle tension without excessive friction on the skin.

Older people are prone to developing age-related diseases that limit their physical capabilities and cause poor circulation. Many seniors are lonely, anxious, or depressed, and geriatric massage can provide comfort to touch-deprived elderly clients and improve their quality of life. By Susan C. Jenkins at HospitalNews.com

Massage therapy is about health and wellbeing in a safe environment. You can expect mutual respect, courtesy, professionalism, confidentiality and dignity between you and the massage therapist.

Before Massage

The first thing you will do is fill out paperwork with health history and other personal information to determine your overall health, and your health and wellness goals. This information will help the massage therapist structure the session.

Modesty will be respected

Before your massage, you’ll be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort. The massage therapist will leave the room while you undress. You will be instructed to lie on the massage table, underneath the provided sheet and blanket, which will cover your body. Proper draping will be used to expose only the part of the body being massaged.

Massage Studio

Soothing Music will be played, light aromatherapy is defused. If you find music distracting, or aromatherapy unpleasant please tell your massage therapist. Your massage therapist will check on pressure and comfort throughout your appointment. The massage table is wide and with a warm pad and rated for up to 400 lbs. Bolsters and pillows are used for comfort, placed under knees, ankles and under chest to support breasts. A face cradle is attached to the massage table which allows you to lie face down comfortably. You can always expect newly clean sheets and blankets of different thickness to be offered.

Massage Therapy Session

Oil or lotion will be used. If you're allergic to oils or lotions, tell your massage therapist beforehand.  Depending on your needs, the massage therapist will massage either the full body (except private areas, and areas discussed beforehand) or only specific areas that need attention, such as especially tight muscles. Swedish massage usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on what you have scheduled.

A 60 minute full body massage typically starts with a head & scalp massage for relaxation. Then, the neck and shoulders, moving on to each arm, and to the legs & feet. Next, you will roll over on the massage table and your back of the legs, the glutes will be worked, finishing up  with a back massage. After your massage, the massage therapist will allow you to slowly get up and get dressed in privacy.
